When buffing with Airway style pads, always use flanges. Serious injury can result when they not used. Flanges need to cover all the metal including the darts that hold the material in place. A center plate with a 3" diameter needs a 4" flange. Our Safety Flange Kit comes with one pair of flanges, and a 5/8 extension adapter that fits most hand held buffers.
